I am a trained licensed clinical supervisor, and I recognize how lucky I am to have had excellent supervisors in my past. It’s important to be challenged in the room. If I take thoughtful risks with my supervisees, it encourages them to take beneficial, growth-oriented risks with their clients.
A supervisee working with me can expect a safe space where questions are always welcome, and they can be vulnerable. We will set goals, I will give feedback, I will support, and I will always try to make myself readily available to my supervisees. My supervisees understand that I’m going to be giving them honest, direct and compassionate feedback while also challenging them, much like we do with our clients.
