I do. You are welcome to a free 15 minute phone consultation with me so we can meet each other and determine if we are a good fit. You’ll be able to ask me any question that you may have, and I can learn about your situation to determine if my skill sets match your needs.

My current fee for individual sessions is $225. Couples/families typically require a session and a half and you can find starting prices on my Rates page. We discuss a flat fee prior to your first session. I do not take insurance at this time, but accept all major credit/debit cards, cash and checks and can provide a superbill for insurance reimbursement. If cost is a hindering factor, please call me for a consult to see if we can work something out

I am not on any insurance panels and do not accept insurance. However, I can provide a monthly superbill for you to submit for reimbursement.

Many of us suffer from all sorts of problems because we don’t have enough support or motivation to start or to follow through. A therapist can help you to clarify your goals, create feasible strategies that consider the obstacles you are likely to face, and act as a supportive partner in the process. Whether you are suffering, struggling, facing a tough decision, curious about your patterns, or just want a little extra support, therapy can help you. Call me for a free 15 minute consultation to explore if we are a good fit. If not, I will give you referrals to someone that is.

In our first session, I will provide “informed consent.” This is therapist fancy-talk for me obtaining your consent to provide therapy. If comfortable, you will tell me why you’ve come to therapy and we may start to create a guideline for how we will work on your issues. The session will be 50 minutes and payment will be due at the end.

Therapy is a relationship based on the needs of the client (you!). That said, length of therapy can vary depending on your specific needs and circumstances. It can be as brief as a few sessions, a few months or up to a few years. The short answer is: it is up to you. I have experience in both brief, solution-focused therapy as well as long-term psychoanalytic therapy.

What you can expect to get out of therapy depends largely on your reasons for seeking out therapy. Generally, my clients are seeking clarity around a certain issue, want to break the cycle of bad habits, or need advice and counsel about a current life situation. Whatever is going on, therapy can help you by providing clarity, confidence, and relief.

I offer therapy to individuals, couples, adults, teens and adolescents. Generally I offer therapy for depression, anxiety, emotional balance, communication skills, trauma and substance abuse. Please read more about me and my services on the about me page.

This is a great question… it’s important to feel comfortable and safe with your therapist. The best way to know if we are a match is by doing a free consultation so we can speak and get a feel for each other. Usually we can determine if we’d be a good match after one conversation. Please feel free to request a free consultation by contacting me online or calling 415-323-6931.

Generally speaking, a good time to seek therapy is when you feel stuck, or when advice and support from family and friends is not enough. If you are suffering from any issues that are interfering with your normal routine, occupational (or academic) functioning, family, friends or social activities, you might benefit from therapy.

Really good question! There was a time when therapists subscribed to one particular kind of therapy: Cognitive Behavioral, Client-Centered, Jungian, Narrative and so on… I find these to be limiting and too “cookie-cutter.” We are complex individuals with different strengths and needs. In my practice, we will identify your strengths and use those as building blocks to use any modality that fits best for you. In general, I use a strength-based model incorporating organic and holistic tools to help you move towards your goals. I also believe in treatment being collaborative, utilizing Motivational Interviewing to help you achieve your goals and identify the dreams you have yet to have. If you have specific questions about my education, skills or training, please feel free to ask.
